Welcome, Tuff Tafari Home of Handmade Arts & Crafts!in Stateville News, Event Posts, Downtown Businesses, Business Updates
Located at 111 S. Center Street in Suite 3 is a hidden gem that has come to Downtown Statesville. Tuff Tafari, owned by Letisha Lewis and Valorie Brown are bringing ‘Home of Handmade’ to a local base.
After setting up shop for years at flea markets every weekend, Lewis and Brown decided this was becoming tiresome and wanted to settle down a bit. They felt they had found the perfect spot for a permanent home in Downtown Statesville. Lewis stated “There wasn’t another business as such in the area. & this is my hometown.
The business name was inspired through their Ghanaian business partner, who lives in Accra Ghana. This is a country along the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean, in the sub region of West Africa. The business name originates from Tuff meaning Strong/ Strength , & Tafari being the partners African name. Tuff Tafari Home of Handmade Arts & Crafts, has their original store front in Ghana & this is where their Ghanaian business partner continues to reside. He does continue to import goods from Ghana to the business partners here in Statesville.
Tuff Tafari is a store that caters to every culture & ethnic background selling all handmade products/items including:
