Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau and City of Statesville to Host Civil Rights Marker Unveiling

Public Invited to Attend Ceremony at Statesville Historical Collection

The Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau, in partnership with the City of Statesville, will host a public unveiling of a Civil Rights Marker honoring the 1960 Woolworth’s lunch counter sit-in on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Statesville Historical Collection. Learn more here.

Calling All Vendors – Arbor Day Celebration

The City of Statesville is now accepting vendors for our 24th Annual Arbor Day Celebration at Statesville Park & Soccer Complex on Saturday, April 18, 2026 – and we’re looking for businesses that share our love for nature, sustainability, and community.

This free, family-friendly event draws hundreds of residents each year for tree giveaways, kids’ activities, Touch-A-Truck, environmental education, and outdoor fun and we’d love for you to be part of it! Learn more here.

Severe Weather Preparedness Week for North Carolina

Severe Weather Preparedness Week in North Carolina (March 1–7, 2026) is a statewide effort to encourage residents to review safety plans and prepare for severe weather hazards, including thunderstorms, tornadoes, flooding, lightning, and high winds. Each day focuses on a different preparedness topic, highlighting the importance of having multiple ways to receive alerts, understanding weather warnings, practicing safety procedures, and creating an emergency plan.

Residents are also encouraged to participate in the NC Annual Statewide Tornado Drill on Wednesday, March 4 at 9:30 a.m. Preparedness is a year-round responsibility that helps protect lives and strengthen our community.

🔹Skilled Laborer - Parks Maintenance (Full-Time): This position is responsible for semi-skilled work in a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair assignments involving the use of specialized tools and equipment within the Parks Maintenance division of the City’s Recreation and Economic Vitality department.

🔹Summer Camp Counselor (Seasonal): This position is responsible for performing general duties relating to programs and activities at the Recreation Center Summer Camp.
