Statesville Historical Collection

An eclectic display of photography and memorabilia related to the history of Statesville and Iredell County. The current exhibit focuses on the evolution of the Downtown Business District from the 1890s through the 1960s.

Civil War Marker 

This marker is part of the North Carolina Civil War Trails series. It is near the Old County Courthouse located at 200 S. Center Street and references Statesville in the Civil War and Stoneman’s Raid

Walk of Fame

Statesville has been host to the filming (in part) of a number of movies in the past such as A Stoning of Fulgham County, Ryan White Story, The Feud, Bone Yard and Leatherheads. Markers commemorating many of these movies can be seen in the sidewalks throughout the downtown area.

Fourth Creek Burying Ground

Statesville’s only cemetery between 1756-1888. Bounded by a rock wall which contains on the NE corner one of the four original corner posts of the city. This cemetery contains the graves of many Revolutionary War soldiers and ornate and interesting markers
