Co-Working is the New Trend

Last Updated 9/2/2021Posted in Statesville News, Business Updates

Co-working spaces have become increasingly popular over the last year. In fact, they have increased at a dramatic rate since the end of 2020 (158%). This trend is due to the shift in employers allowing a hybrid work environment, as well as, more workers starting their own ventures and needing a space to create. 68% percent of the American work force prefers the hybrid model because it allows them to feel more productive, social, and ultimately, happier. Co-working spaces help foster creativity and out of the box thinking while also allowing collaborations with others that wouldn’t usually occur. Co-workers feel more engaged and motivated, and they feel they are acquiring new skills and improving their existing skill sets as a result of being in these environments.

What is a co-working space?

A co-working space is a dedicated area, usually open, with sectioned areas for workers to set up a work station. They provide wi-fi, restrooms, usually a café or refreshment area, and a community work space. Many offer other amenities as well, such as printing stations, classes, kitchen, showers, and more.
