The Statesville Story Stroll is Back in Downtown Statesville

The Statesville Story Stroll is back just in time for summer!

As part of a collaboration between the Iredell County Partnership for Young Children and the Iredell County Public Library, and in celebration of the book’s 30th anniversary, pages of “The Rainbow Fish” will be placed in the windows of participating Downtown Statesville business storefronts.

The story about a unique fish with shimmering scales provides an opportunity for children to think about sharing, friendship, and feelings and will be available from June 1 – July 31. It was written by Marcus Pfister.

“The Statesville Story Stroll is a wonderful way for families to combine literacy skills with healthy outdoor activity,” said Peyton Barrows, literacy program coordinator for ICPYC. “The feedback surrounding our previous stories has been so positive and we are excited to continue with this classic tale and celebrate the book’s 30th anniversary all summer long.”

When families complete the Story Stroll, they are encouraged to head to the Iredell County Public Library for a “Rainbow Fish” themed Take and Make activity.
