Iredell Museums
Iredell Museums announces its NEW Smithsonian Exhibit!
Crossroads: Change in Rural America is a Smithsonian Institution exhibit that offers small towns and rural communities a chance to look at their own paths to highlight the changes that affected their fortunes over the past century.
The exhibit explores how rural America embraces the notion that their citizens and their cultural uniqueness are important assets. All Americans benefit from rural America’s successes, and we can learn great things from listening to those stories.
Exhibiting Crossroads: Change in Rural America allows the community to reflect on Iredell County's history and culture, and Iredell Museums is excited to use the exhibit to explore what the future holds for the community.
With support from North Carolina Humanities, Iredell Museums is developing their own accompanying, regional exhibit to showcase local people and stories. They will also host various programs and events to spark conversations about what makes our community unique and essential.
Iredell Museums wishes to thank North Carolina Humanities for their support. They look forward to having members of Statesville and Iredell County see Crossroads: Change in Rural America at Iredell Museums.
The exhibit Grand Opening is Thursday, September 1, 2022. The exhibit OPENS on Thursday, September 2, 2022 and will be on view through Thursday, October 13, 2022.
